Very Quick and Easy Amritsari Chole Rtecipe. Goes perfectly with desi breakfast

Amritsari Chole

  • 2 Cup Overnight Soaked Chickpeas
  • 2 tea bags
  • ¼ Cup Oil
  • Water
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Cup Tomato Sauce
  • 10-12 Black Pepper
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 2 tbsp Amchur Powder
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Julien Ginger and Green Chili


  • In a deep pan add chickpeas
  • Add black pepper, black cardamom, cinnamon stick, cumin seeds, cloves and salt.
  • Add tea bags and water
  • Let it boil until chickpeas are tender
  • In another pan pour ¼ cup of oil
  • Add onion puree
  • Cook until onions turn golden brown
  • Add ginger garlic paste
  • Add tomato sauce and rest of the spices
  • Cook for 3-5 minutes
  • Add chickpeas in it with the remaining water (1 Cup Approx)
  • Mix well add fresh ginger, green chili and cilantro
  • Add water as needed and let it simmer until it reaches your required consistency
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and lemon
  • Serve with Naan
