Samosa is a baked pastry with savory filling, fried to golden brown filling typically is made with spiced potatoes, onions, peas, cheese, lentils or beef and other meats.

  • 2 Cups Flour Maida
  • Oil/Ghee
  • 2 tsp Salt Namak
  • 6 Potatoes Aloo
  • 1 Small Onion Pyaaz
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds Zeera
  • ½ tsp Crushed Red Chili Kuti Laal Mirch
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder Laal Mirch
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste Adrak Lehsan Paste
  • 2 Green Chilies Sabz Mirch
  • Cilantro Hara Dhaniya
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • Water
  • Oil


  • Mix flour, 1 tsp of salt and 4 tbsp. oil
  • Knead firm dough
  • Let it rest for at least 30 minutes
  • Boil potatoes
  • In a pan add 2 tbsp oil
  • Add cumin seeds and toast them. This will add the perfect flavor and aroma.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes
  • Add all red chili powder, red chili flakes and 1 tsp salt
  • Add green chili and onion
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes
  • Add potatoes
  • Cook for 5 minutes
  • Breakdown the potatoes with wooden spatula
  • Add cilantro
  • Mix well
  • Let it cool down completely
  • Back to the dough
  • Now divide the dough in 6-8 portions
  • Roll the dough in round discs
  • Cut it in half
  • Make a cone shape. Overlap and stick dough using water
  • Add the stuffing in the cone.
  • Now close the edges by pressing them together (Please watch the video to get a better idea)
  • Fry smosas in hot oil until they turn golden brown
  • Serve with raita and chutneys
