  • 2 Cups Flour Maida
  • Oil/Ghee
  • 2 tsp Salt Namak
  • 6 Potatoes Aloo
  • 1 Small Onion Pyaaz
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds Zeera
  • ½ tsp Crushed Red Chili Kuti Laal Mirch
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder Laal Mirch
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste Adrak Lehsan Paste
  • 2 Green Chilies Sabz Mirch
  • Cilantro Hara Dhaniya
  • 2 tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • Water
  • Oil


  1. Mix flour, 1 tsp of salt and 4 tbsp. oil
  2. Knead firm dough
  3. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes
  4. Boil potatoes
  5. In a pan add 2 tbsp oil
  6. Add cumin seeds and toast them. This will add the perfect flavor and aroma.
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes
  8. Add all red chili powder, red chili flakes and 1 tsp salt
  9. Add green chili and onion
  10. Cook for 5-7 minutes
  11. Add potatoes
  12. Cook for 5 minutes
  13. Breakdown the potatoes with wooden spatula
  14. Add cilantro
  15. Mix well
  16. Let it cool down completely
  17. Back to the dough
  18. Now divide the dough in 6-8 portions
  19. Roll the dough in round discs
  20. Cut it in half
  21. Make a cone shape. Overlap and stick dough using water
  22. Add the stuffing in the cone.
  23. Now close the edges by pressing them together (Please watch the video to get a better idea)
  24. Fry smosas in hot oil until they turn golden brown
  25. Serve with raita and chutneys
